April 2017 IAB Meeting Recap
The April 2017 NCSS I/UCRC IAB meeting at the University of Texas at Dallas was a success! We had 60 people in attendance - 8 of whom were industry members, 8 who were industry/government visitors, and 29 students. The Spring meeting included 13 project presentations (five new proposals and eight in-progress reports), a keynote speech by Peter DeNagy, and a "Wicked" Problem Industry Panel. The meeting was attended virtually by Dmitri Perkins, the I/UCRC CISE NSF Director, who gave a brief overview of the I/UCRC program. This meeting was different from those in the past as we tried a different meeting format. Some examples of the differences are that the poster presentations were held during an extended lunch period, IAB Business was discussed on the first day, and the presentations were covered over a two-day period. A survey will be sent out soon to see how attendees felt about the changes.
If you are a member and were unable to attend, you may find the proceedings and all presentations here (but note, that you will need to log in). Since it was a success at the last meeting, we chose to record both days of the meeting, as well as the poster presentations. All videos and pictures from the meeting will be posted soon.
Questions about our center, the IAB meeting, locating documents on our site, and problems logging in can be directed to Melanie Dewey.
